Will Apple remove the 10-minute Airdrop limitation in a future iOS release and allow users to take responsibility for accepting or declining info coming into their iPhone or iPad?

Why does ios 16.xx limit Airdrop to 10-minutes? We always had the option to ACCEPT or DECLINE an Airdrop.
