iPhone 14 Pro pulsing in and out of focus. Need to restart phone to resolve.

My iPhone 14 pro rear camera will occasionally continually pulse into and out of focus. The only way I'm able to resolve when this happens is to restart the phone. I'm wondering if I should take it in to have it looked at--it's quite likely to work fine if/when I do.

My daughter’s XR was doing this when she would invoke the camera from the Lock Screen. If she switched from the rear facing camera to the front facing camera, it would stop. It didn’t happen when she invoked the camera from the Home Screen, only from the Lock Screen.

I force restarted her phone and she update to iOS 16.3.1 and it stopped doing this. Try force restarting and update if you haven’t done so already.

Hello!

After all this should be a software issue. Make sure you are running on the latest iOS - 16.3.1. Please also report the issue here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple, so Apple acknowledge it and try to fix it as soon as possible. If possible it is good everyone to report it.

Even though most likely it is not a hardware issue, things like that can occur if the phone has been dropped or damaged and if it is just a faulty unit.

Have a great day!
