can I transfer DVR programs to my Mac with IMovie?

I have cable TV and a DVR cable box supplied by Comcast. Is it possible to transfer a program I have recorded on the DVR to an external Mac, such as my MB Pro

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.2

That would depend on the DVR box.

Does it have some way for you to access the recordings?

Does it offer an interface you can connect to with a computer?

You would need to research the specific brand and model of DVR box and see if there's someway to get the recordings off of it through a computer.

The Mac on its own would no magical way to access the content unless the DVR box offers a way.

Hi , I have Dazzle hardware attached to the DVR. It has a yellow video, and 2 red audio ports. There is an USB connector at the other end. What I think I need is the software to use to transport DVR programs to my Mac to record. I was hoping UMovie may be the software bridge.

I tried Videoglide software on my 2011 Mac Book Pro ( It doesn't work on the newer Macs.) I was able to get a picture on my Mac, but no sound. When I tried selecting the sound on my Mac, it shut down and restarted. It continued doing it when I tried again. I was hoping IMovie would be another software solution for it? Any suggestions?
