Apple modified their battery replacement rules a couple years ago where they offer to replace batteries in laptops for up to 10 years, however, the fine print states "if parts are available". Sometimes we are able to get a battery for a 2013 MBAir from Apple while other times we cannot...it is annoying the inconsistency.

If you are unable to get an official battery replacement from Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider, then your best options are to get a third party battery from either OWC or iFixIt and replace it yourself (fairly easy process for these older MBAirs, however, you will be responsible for properly recycling the used battery). I always recommend getting an official Apple OEM battery as long as Apple provides them because the quality of third party Lithium-ion batteries are usually quite poor.

Hello SteveGunners1,

For help with service for your MacBook Air battery, check out details here: Obtaining service for your Apple product after an expired warranty

As shown in the article the following are both the MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2013) and the MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013) are listed as obsolete. However, it mentions:

"About obsolete products

Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago. Monster-branded Beats products are considered obsolete regardless of when they were purchased.

Apple discontinues all hardware service for obsolete products, with the sole exception of Mac laptops that are eligible for an additional battery-only repair period. Service providers cannot order parts for obsolete products."
