iphone doesnot shows contact list at dialling three to four digit

Why iPhone does not shows contacts for similar four to five digits?

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 16

It is not a feature of iOS. When the entire number is entered, the contact's name will be displayed if the contact is encoded.
