If you do not want to use iCloud, but only want your iPhone's local storage space, then you can disable the iCloud functions here: Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.


However, you should be aware that if your contacts are in iCloud, they will disappear from your iPhone - the same applies to Pictures, Passwords, Files, Calendar, Notes, Reminders, etc.
