Can I use Apple Watch Camera Remote with my iPad Air?

I’ve been googling this but all I’m finding is SEO stuff for third party apps, I am just trying to find out if there’s a way I can use the camera remote app on my watch with my ipad. My phones camera is not as good and i would love to take full advantage of the better quality iPad.
