Sigkill shutdowns MacBook

Hi,

Can anybody explain how plugging in a thunderbolt cable to

my Macbook resolves all Sigkill shutdowns ?

Well, I could try...I am devoid of any competence in the matter.

My MacBook began shutting down at random; I would just press the start button and

it would restart normally. This began happening on a regular basis, to a degree that made it impossible to use

the Macbook.

I began reading posts in search of a solution and realized I was not the only person to encounter this particular problem. I followed advice found in some threads and consulted a panel that's lists the shutdown history. There is a long list where the word sigkill appears every couple of lines, followed by coded data, which is greek to me.

I then consulted the Apple help center.

Apple recommended I bring the machine to my local dealer.

I persisted in consulting the forums and eventually came up with a post which advocated the use of a

thunderbolt cable simply plugged into the MacBook (without anything plugged in to it)

Since then, no more random shutdowns. Its a cheap fix, I suppose, but I reckon the cable requires

a little extra power, as the battery seems to need recharging more often ( this could also be due to age, maybe)

That's about it. I really don't know a thing about all this...

All the best, JB
