Airplay to new LG QNED TV

In searching this forum there are lots of conflicting answers, so I am going to ask it separately. I just got a new LG QNED TV and cannot Airplay the ESPN app from any device to the TV. I AM able to connect my device. So I get the code and the connection is made and the TV shows up as an Airplay option on the device. I click the TV option and the device (either my ipad or iPhone) thinks it’s connected. But nothing shows up on the TV except the Airplay setup screen. The TV “thinks” about it for a minute and appears to be connecting to my device but again, nothing shows on the screen. I do not know if this is an ESPN app issue or a TV issue, but LG support is horrible. I have done all the things they’ve asked me to do (reset device, reinstall the ESPN app, turn off Bluetooth, etc.). We Airplay a lot of sporting events and I am so disappointed I didn’t look into this before buying an LG.

Not sure what else i could try Airplaying in order to determine if it’s the ESPN app or not.

Oh, to add to this. I tried Airplaying through the Apple TV app on the TV and that did not work either.

I know this is not an Apple issue, but figured you all are smart, so I’d ask here.
