Carplay not working after update to IOS 16.3.1

Since i updated to the latest version of iOS my car wont startup carplay when i plug it in with cable (bluetooth isnt an option) my friends Iphone XR works perfect but he isnt on iOS 16.3.1


tested it on other cars and still no carplay starts up. I checked my settings with screen time and stuff but all was correct like my friends Iphone XR. I rebooted my iphone. Did a full restart but still nothing.

I use wireless CarPlay in my car, am on iOS 16.3.1, I experience no problems. Try setting up CarPlay again.


Go to: SettingsGeneral CarPlay Select your Car → select Forget this Car


In your car's display, find the connection settings. It differs from car to car, but look for CarPlay/Android Auto. Find your iPhone and delete it.


Now start a fresh setup of CarPlay:

Have you set up any restrictions in Screen Time?

Settings Screen TimeContent & Privacy Restrictions

If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.


You can also try to connect with another Lightning Cable, preferably original, or another USB port in the car.


Also remember that when you set up CarPlay, that the handbrake is activated or the car gear is in Park. If you still cannot connect to CarPlay, visit your workshop with the car, your car stereo may need an update.
