My AirPods Pro-2 connect to 3rd party adapters but have no sound. I've tried both my Monster & TaoTronics adapters. I wanted to use my AirPods with my TV which does not have Bluetooth. Both adapters work great with my Anker earbuds.
Any ideas or is Apple preventing this on purpose?
Thanks for the reply. After a lengthy phone call with Apple support the conclusion is that Apple AirPods will not work with 3rd party Bluetooth adapters. While support would neither confirm or deny that this was by design I believe that to be the case. His suggestion was that they would only work with Apple devices running the latest OS for each device. I found that not to be the case however as I was able to use them with 2 old iMacs, a Mini & iPhone 7 all of which are unable to run the current OS's. So while AirPods are great with Apple devices they will not work with non-Apple devices.

If your AirPods themselves have no audio, it's best to work through the steps in the resource you used to reach us: If your left or right AirPod isn't working
If the issue only happens with the adapters, reaching out to the device manufacturer is the best way to get support.
