If your AirPods work correctly with your host device (iPhone, Apple Watch, other Apple hardware) you have nothing to worry about.
It is almost impossible to determine whether a product is genuine simply by reference to a product model number (this could also be copied on counterfeit hardware), but the Does It Work test is a good guide. The final and definitive test would be to get the device inspected and tested by an Apple technician.
