Since software update 16.3.1 my iphone 12 pro max does not receive messages from android phones. There seems to be a bug/ glitch. What can I do to fix

See whether shutting OFF your iPhone and restarting it resolves the issue. If that doesn’t work then:
Are you able to send SMS messages to non Apple phones? If NOT then please contact your carrier because they will be able to resolve this issue. SMS Messaging feature is provided and managed by your carrier.

I contacted Verizon
The representative “synched the system “ by pushing a button and my test messages from android phones now come through. As to what was done by pushing a button on her end that says “synch system”does or did I have no idea ( and she could not explain ) but suspect related to the update. Good luck to all others with problems of this type with the software update.
Contact your carrier and see whether they can ensure that all your account settings at their end are set correctly.

I can send but I am not receiving from Androids since the software update.
Shutting off did not help.
I can send messages to android phones and I do receive phone calls from android phones but not their messages.
