iphone 4 will not wake up after going into auto-lock

I too have this problem.

I have had my iPhone 4 for just over 2 weeks now and also seen this issue.

At first it happened maybe once a day. But since the latest update to 4.1, it happens pretty much every time it goes to sleep.

And yes, the only way I have seen around it, is a hard reset.

Anyone out there know more of this issue? How many handsets it effects or is it isolated to only a few? Is apple aware of it?

I have a Iphone 3G 8GB.
I ahve had to downgrade to 3.1.3 to resolve my issue.

I have had this problem since the day I got my phone (June 29th), but it happens to mine only if I don't try to use it for a length of time. I've not been able to determine that length of time accurately, though, because it usually only happens at night after I've fallen asleep. During the day I usually keep waking it up so that it doesn't happen. It's quite a disappointment. I was going to restore the phone to factory settings to see if that helped. Has anyone tried that?
