It would depend on where you are signed into your Apple ID.
For example:
- A device you own. Signing out of your Apple ID is optional and will depend on what you are logged into with that ID. Since you are posting in the iPhone area, your phone would already be linked to your Apple ID. In this case, you do NOT want to log out of your ID as this would remove your phone from both Find My and remove Activation Lock from it.
- A device that you don't own. Typically, you would only sign into your Apple ID when you need to access iCloud services. In this case, you should definitely log out of your ID when done with accessing those services. I'm also assuming that you are using a desktop/laptop computer as you shouldn't be logging into your ID on a borrowed iPhone.
