There are two ways to lock a note. On newer iOS and iPadOS versions, with the device passcode or with a user-specified password and optionally with an added password hint. On versions prior to iOS 16, with a user-specified password, and that possibly with a hint. And there’s a hint that was specified here.
The user-specified password is the decryption key.
That decryption key cannot be reset on an existing note, and is not stored anywhere.
Without that decryption key, the contents of that note will remain inaccessible.
There is no limit to the number of decryption key (passwords) you can try, in this particular case. In most cases, trying lots of passwords is a Bad Idea, but it is allowed in this particular case.
