Why are uninstalled apps accessing my contacts

Several apps are accessing my contacts several times a day. I got a new iPad yesterday, 9th gen and set it up from my previous ipad. The battery was draining quickly. I looked at the analytical reports to determine the cause. It appears to be apps accessing my contact data. Even apps that I have offloaded, still access my contacts. I have read replies to this question stating that contacts are stored offline. What I would like to know is how to stop this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Cathy2023,

Thanks for posting. We'd like to get an understanding of what's happening to see how we can assist.

Can you clarify what you're seeing that makes you believe apps are accessing your contacts and using battery resources? Please provide us with as much detail as you have about what's going on.

As a start, regarding access to your contacts, you might want to start by tapping Settings > Privacy & Security > Contacts. From there, you can turn off access to any apps that are using your contacts. This link provides more detail: Control access to information in apps on iPhone - Apple Support

Also, while the best steps will depend on what's happening, it's a good idea to make sure your iPad is running the latest software as updates contain a number of fixes and improvements. Be sure to back up beforehand: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Cheers.
