The transducer beneath the user-replaceable Pencil tip is fully protected by the tip. If the transducer has been damaged, the Pencil won’t work.

A correctly fitted pencil tip will protect the transducer from damage in normal usage. As such, the transducer is very unlikely to break “while writing”.

Your Pencil will need to be assessed for eligibility for warranty replacement. While your warranty does not cover accidental damage, you might be lucky. If your iPad has benefit of an active AppleCare+ plan, your Pencil may benefit from this extended coverage for accidental damage.
