I want to reset an old iPad 3. However it won’t connect by wifi to my iPhone 13 with iOS 16.3.
The phone shows up on the list of wifi, and the two interlocked links show up beside the name. It asks for a password but I then get a message saying ‘unable to join the network’ “iPhone”
The same process works on a newer ipad. Is it a compatibility issue?

If you are having difficulty connecting to your iPhone hotspot with your iPad3, try changing your iPhone’s hotspot setting to Maximise Compatibility:
Settings > Personal Hotspot > Maximise Compatibility - set to ON
