Connect a webcam to ipad

I want to use a webcam for Zoom and FaceTime with my iPad, so it can be attached above the screen even when it's turned in landscape mode. But webcams are mostly USB devices. If I get one of those USB webcams, can I connect it with a Lightning to USB Camera adapter, or is that adapter just for uploading images and videos? All the support articles for connecting a webcam to iPad seem to be many years old.

Hello badfan,

To use a camera within FaceTime or conferencing apps then you will need to utilize the internal iPad camera.

This page can help with going over the available video settings that may be changed within FaceTime on iPadOS: Change FaceTime video settings on iPad - Apple Support

"Change FaceTime video settings on iPad

During a call in the FaceTime app on iPad, you can turn Center Stage and Portrait mode on or off, switch between cameras, or turn your camera on or off."

You may also opt to leave feedback for Apple if desired. The dedicated feedback site may be found here: Product Feedback - Apple

Cheers.
