Mail 16.0 "Make sure you have available space in your home folder and try again"

Sadly I allowed an update! When opening mail, it tell me I must import my existing messages must be imported. Clicking continue an error message appears: The import failed. The message is: An error occurred during import (wow, really). Make sure you have available space in your home folder and try again (so two terabytes free is not enough space). Every day that I use an Apple product I miss Steve Jobs!

Fixed it. I found that the incorruptible Always Problems File System (think Titanic) was in fact corrupt. Of course, why would we need lifeboats on the incorruptible, so diskutil could not fix it. Had to put back the original Apple Drive. Reload the OS Monterey to get the firmware update. Put in the adapter and the drive I use, reload the OS Monterey again. Restore the backup from the newest Time Machine drive I have ( I keep two because I am forced to use the APFS and they get corrupted all the time ). Reload the programs that did not restore. After all this Mail started working, but without any mailboxes but the me.com account. I will be putting this system back together for several days and on each one of those days, I will be missing Steve Jobs!

PS: Windows 11 works great on this system. MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

Here is more info. I was going to fix the home folder permissions, but one of the older updates killed the recovery partition so I will have to make an install stick.

Two things.

Q - " This drive work great until mail was upgraded. " ?

A - The Apple Mail application in and of itself may have been upDated when the whole Operations System was upgraded from say Monterey 12.6.2 to Monterey 12.6.2

Q - " I am running BOOTCAMP with Windows 11, "

A - According to Apple, Bootcamp only supported Window 10 and there is no information the Below Link mentions Windows 11

Excerpt for below link

" You can use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 10 on your Intel-based Mac. "

Install Windows on your newer Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support (CA)

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

This is a Diagnostic Tool that makes no changes to the computer.

It makes a coherent and readable inventory of both the Hardware and Software used on the computer

The application is free or paid from added features.

Thanks for looking.

If you look at the pin out of an Apple SSD and a normal SSD they just reversed two pins. This drive work great until mail was upgraded.

I am running BOOTCAMP with Windows 11, so that is the strange layout. Microsoft has some strange partitions that EtreCheck labels incorrectly. Windows was installed by Boot Camp Assistant. The bootcamp partition is mounted by NTFS for Mac by Paragon Software.

I am going to try and repair the recovery partition followed by home folder permissions.

I still miss Steve Jobs every day!
