What if I don’t have a computer to plug my iPhone XR in to download and install the IOS 16 software update??

You can download iOS 16.3.1 update over the air on your iPhone. Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update and wait for an iOS 16.3.1 update to appear then download and install the update.
