Mortygirl Level 1 Level 1
I had an ipod touch which worked happily with my laptop but my little girl was starting school so i bought an iphone4 to take along with me to take picture/video footage etc.
However when i returned home, with much treasured pictures, i connected my brand new iphone to my laptop which asked me to sync with the stuff from my ipod touch.
All the photos i took of my little girls first day of school is no longer on my iphone!! Are they recoverable ?!?!? I'm heartbroken. I cant believe they're gone !

Dell, Windows Vista

i don't think you can recover them unless you backed it up. when you connect your iPhone, can you go into My Computer and see the iPhone and then browse through the folders to see the pics there?

If you restored with backup from your ipod, then they are very likely gone.

You did not import these important photos/videos before restoring your iphone?

no, they are not there. i definately took the option of downloading drom the iphone before i synced with my old one. cant I get a download of the memory card or something, or undo the sync?

Pics/videos taken with iphone are imported just as they would be from any digital camera. They are not part of the sync process.

If you restored from the backup of your ipod, then I can think of no way to get them back.

For future reference, you should import the photos/videos often, as you never want the only copy of something important on a mobile device ( you don't want one copy of anything important, period). Certainly do not upgrade/restore/etc without being sure that you have imported everything.
