Pairing B&O Headphones

I have B&O H9i headphones which have connected and paired easily to my ipad and iPhone for 2 years. Now they will connect and appear in the list of connected Bluetooth products on both my ipad and iPhone but they won’t pair to play music. I’ve updated the software in the headphones and the iPad and iPhone but still it doesn’t work. The headphones can clearly connect via Bluetooth to the B&O app on my ipad because I can see the controls and settings on the app. Any ideas?

iPhone 8, iOS 16

Re: Pairing B&O Headphones : Any ideas?

If you haven't already, you may want to try updating to iOS 16.3.1

You might want to check that you are only connecting headphones to one device at a time. (Eg may not be switching between multiple devices.)

See if turn off / turn on bluetooth helps

Could an open app (eg Game with audio) be "over-riding" the earphones audio

or

could volume be turned very low so it appears they aren't paired
