Imac 21.5in, late 2012 upgrade options

I have an Imac,late 2012 with OS X El Capitan. How do i upgrade this to a more recent OS. Also what other options do i have?

You can upgrade up to Catalina 10.15.7, You can get it here: How to download macOS - Apple Support

Be aware older 32bit apps will no longer run and will need updated or replaced. You can check which ones using https://www.stclairsoft.com/Go64/
