iCloud displaying photos upside down

Can anyone please explain why iCloud is displaying my photos correctly in the thumbnails, but when I click on some recent ones (not all my photos), they turn upside down once they've fully loaded?

Thumbnails not showing preview in photos app I am currently using icloud for my photos and all photos are showing up in my icloud. However, not all of them are showing up in the photos app on my mac. In the photos app, their are thumbnails for all the photos but only some of them are showing a preview. When I click on the grey thumbnail no photo shows up only a blank screen. It appears as though only the photos that I have taken with my new iphone 14 pro max are not showing up in the photos app and have blank thumbnails. Any ideas on how I can fix this? See image below.

can't download photos to edit them!! I've recently discovered that when I try edit certain photos of mine the download button appears and won't move meaning that I can't edit/ crop/ revert the photo. The photos are all safe in icloud but I can no longer edit them on my iphone. my photos are set to 'optimise storage' but I always used to be able to access my old photos to edit them. Has anyone else come across this problem?

It doesn’t happen on my iPad, just on my Mac by the way.
