multicam timelines

I'm attempting to edit a wedding video that was shot with 3 different cameras. so I've selected my footage and created a Multicam clip. The people running these cameras did a lot of starting and stopping on the recording rather than just continuously rolling. so instead of creating 3 different angles with the footage, final cut put each clip in its own individual timeline (creating about 25 different angles with footage that's completely out of order). does anyone know how I can create a Multicam clip putting every clip from the different camera onto its corresponding angles?

For each of the cameras, select all the clips pertaining to that camera, and give them the same "Camera Angle" or "Camera Name" in the Inspector's Info pane.
