Extremely Blurry Screen M1 MacBook Pro 16

Hello! I’ve got an M1 MacBook Pro 16 from my work. I’ve been using it just fine, but recently the internal display just randomly got insanely blurry (it’s practically a black screen). I generally use my Mac with an external display connected via thunderbolt usb c, and that works fine. It’s just the internal display.

Is there any way to fix this, or is this just a screen hardware issue? I’ve attached a photo that shows what this looks like during boot, where you might usually see the apple logo and a loading bar. It’s clearly distorted and just barely recognizable. I can still control the laptop, but when I get to the login screen it’s just a big gray blob.

Yes, and if Apple refuses to provide a satisfying solution, we should consider a class action.

Its a Software issue, Not sure what causes it but Possibly a few things. All you have to do is reset the SMC for your version.

Nope - my IT department thought it was a broken backlight and I've since gotten in replaced.

I carefully inspected mine for a crack, but couldn't find one. However, I'm fairly confident this is a hardware issue (my IT department thought so too) and have since gotten it replaced.

From reading all the posts on everything not working, it's time Apple gets involved with a hands-on evaluation for each of them.

For sure! And they are not old. I have a 15 years old fully functional notebook here. A MacBook is not supposed to stop working with a little more than a year of life.

Oh my..it's using the exact same mini-LED panel. It's inferior to OLED in almost everything except being cheaper.

I have the same issue with my 14 inch model, not even 1,5 years old. It just randomly crashed this morning. Is the issue fixed when replacing the screen?
