I’m looking for an app to increase the canvas size of an image on my phone (ie: to add extra white space around the image) but no such apps seem to exist. Even the iPhone version of Photoshop can’t do it! Why is this? It’s easy on a computer, but does nobody else want to do this on a phone? Any guidance gratefully received.

silhouettes ~ The free Darkroom app can do that. As a screenshot with white space isn't very illustrative, I've also included a coloured one. And if you were to need more white space than Darkroom allows, you could simply do a second edit on the results of the first edit.

You are correct. I have not been able to find an app that offers the feature that you mention. What I end up doing is exporting the image to my comptuer and then adjust the canvas size. You probably do the same thing as I do.
