I am trying to add my new phone number to my Apple ID account after porting but am not able to get the verification code as it is trying to send it to the phone I am trying to activate. I have tried getting a code from my other trusted numbers but it isn’t working! Please help as it’s driving me up the wall

You can also manage your trusted devices and add phone numbers by signing in to your Apple ID account page.
It is under trusted devices but if I try to add it to trusted phone numbers it tries to send the verification code to the phone I am trying to register so I am not getting the verification code text message.
I have tried that but it doesn’t work. I’m not sure if that is just for logging into Apple ID. I can log in but can not add a new number to the account
I don’t have the option ‘didn’t get a verification code’ on the sign in screen, just resend code
Never mind, it just suddenly appeared in the trusted numbers. Can’t explain it, been trying for two days! Thanks for your help
