HP Screen renders for ages and when I connect to my Mac

I'm using a USB-C to HDMI cable to connect my HP monitor to my M1 MacBook pro and it takes ages to load / render. See video here: https://youtu.be/VNQnPazT7js

Anybody know of any fixes for this ?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.2

Your videos certainly shows hopeless performance!

Try the cheap and easy options first. You mention a USB-C to HDMI cable which implies a converter (hopefully) integrated in the cable. That rings alarm bells in my mind about no-name cables. I suggest trying with a known quality USB-C to HDMI dongle, and a known good quality HDMI cable. I have in mind Belkin USB-C to HDMI Adapter - Apple for the adapter, because it is most likely to be supported on Apple products.
