I can't use Compressor and receive the error message:
Compressor Services can't be started
Couldn't read property list from file / User/rickchristie/library/application support/compressor/smbsharingservice-launchd.pllist, error = stream had too few bytes please resolve the issue and relaunch compressor.

Try deleting Compressor preferences.
It works similarly to Motion and FCP: To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting Compressor and click Delete Preferences.
That file may have become corrupted. Try deleting it or at least moving it out of the folder (you can put it in the Desktop if you like).
Log out and back in, and try again.
The file is supposed to be in the file path that was given. It's not supposed to be in Shared. Try using App Cleaner to remove the application and reinstall it.
Forgot to add: to get there quickly:
In Finder, press Command-Shift-G and paste the full path to the file.
YES! It is working! I got access and downloaded AppCleaner.

The path shows the Library folder in User/rickchristie but it is actually in Shared. I tried to move it to User/rickchristie and it wouldn't allow it.
I tried moving the compressor file from Shared/Library/Application Support/ Compressor to my desktop and restarted the computer ... didn't work.

has been blocked by our IT department, so while I'm waiting on the to give me access I have tried 2 different ones from the App Store.
Cleaner One Pro - Uninstaller and Delete Apps: Uninstaller neither one shows compressor.
Did not open and received the same error message.
I deleted the app and reinstalled Compressor and it did not open. Same error message and the Library folder is still in the Users/Shared folder not in rickchristie as the error message states.
Did you use App Cleaner?
No I moved the application to the trash and deleted it. Which app cleaner do you use?
The compressor app is not showing up in the scan of apps ...
I see it in my applications folder but not in the scan of apps to delete.
I don’t know what scan you’re talking about. I don’t see App Cleaner.
I would not use the first application you mentioned. It's as likely to damage pro apps systems as not. I don't know the second.
