Repeatedly prompted to "update Apple ID settings" on multiple devices

I am being prompted to "update Apple ID settings" on multiple devices (iPhone 13 Pro max, 2017 iPad Pro 10.5, 2017 iMac 5K, 2015 MacBook Pro) repeatedly over the past couple of days. I am setting up a new (to me) 2021 Mac mini i7 and it seems related to that. Why does this keep happening?

Hey derekpc,

If you're setting up a new device, are you trying to turn on iCloud Keychain? If so, it's likely asking you to approve the new device. What happens when you go to the alert in Settings and follow the on-screen steps? More details can be found in Step 4 under "Turn on iCloud Keychain on your Mac", here: Set up iCloud Keychain - Apple Support

4. If you choose to "Approve Later" when signing in to your Apple ID, you need to approve with an old passcode or from another device when prompted. If you're unable to approve, reset your end-to-end encrypted data when prompted.

If that's not the case, let us know more about what happens when you try to update your Apple ID settings.

Take care!
