Keep in mind that you can click a cell and in your menu go to Table > Insert Current Date or Insert Current Time.

There are keyboard shortcuts for these that you can see when you access the menu.

Doesn't appear there is a simple way.

Manually, you could do this:

Enter the TODAY function as a formula in a cell where it would be useful to have this information.

TODAY, like other functions in Numbers acts every time there is a change in the table, which in this context can both a blessing and a curse. If you have made any change in the document since opening it, and, if you are saving it after midnight, have made at least one change since midnight, the date in that cell will be the date on which you will save the documen

Before Saving the document, make a single change in the table containing the TODAY cell, then:

  • Click in the cell containing TODAY
  • Copy (command-C)
  • Click in the cell where you want the fixed Date to be stored.
  • Press shift - Command - V (or go to the Edit menu and choose Paste formula result).

This pastes the Date (and Time value which should be 00:00.000, midnight at the beginning of that day)), determined by TODAY, stripped of the formula that would change the D&T value as soon as there was a change in the reopened table.

Barry
