Some pages are taking a long time to open….
In emails, I get ‘load content, and have to click that before the email loads properly….
aldo, some pages take a long time to open. I have plenty memory and broadband generally ok.

Seems that feature was introduced fo safety reasons. (Can be turned off, yet it is certainly not in our best interests to do so).

If eMails contain high res images, or other memory intensive data, they likely would.
Senders could likely use another method to send (as .zip in Mail, AirDrop if nearby)
If simple messages containing a few lines of text open rapidly, then all should be ok.

Wondering if you are using iCloud, and if that has any effect on the page time length:
Eg: If iCloud Mail isn't working
If you haven't already done so, you could try updating to the newest iPadOS.
