HELP: HOW TO CHANGE WINDOW BACK TO MAC OS

Hi, I changed Mac OS to window but now I wanna change it back to Mac OS. However, as I have followed the guide that apple provided in website, I cannot change it.

To be more specific, in order to change back, first I have to click on the Boot Camp and choose "Restart in Mac OS"; however, it says "Could not locate the Mac OS boot volume". Then, the website says I have to update the "Apple software update" but nothing show up and it pops "your software is up-to-date".

I always giving up when reach this step and also people say that if I wanna change back to Mac OS, it better to bring my Mac to the nearest IT store but the price is extremely expensive.

Thank you and hope this can be reached.

  1. First, try restarting while holding the OPT key. You may be able to select the Macintosh HD volume. If you aren't given the option, try the next step.
  2. Restart while holding CMD + R. This should open macOS Recovery, and allow you to wipe and reinstall macOS and explained in this article [Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac - Apple Support]. Be sure to follow the directions carefully. You will lose any data on the disk that you had.

If neither of these options work for you, please open the Terminal app (CMD + Space, type "Terminal", hit Return) and run the below command exactly as shown, then paste the output.

diskutil list

Oops- I'm sorry! The command I provided was for macOS.

As it appears that you have somehow removed the Recovery partition as well, try CMD + OPT + R for Internet recovery. If that fails, you may have to use Apple Configurator with another Mac to restore the device as seen in the below article. Using another Mac or going to an Apple Store should work.

  1. I have tried the first one before and it didn’t work. I tried it again today and still like that. It just doesn’t pop up anything.
  2. I just tried it and it showed a Window restart/ recovery stuffs instead of Mac OS.
  3. I don’t really understand how to do this lmao. I did try open the terminal which is name “Command Prompt” in the Window system and typed the command as you said. However, it said that “diskutil is not recognized as internal or external command operable program or batch file”.
