"Record Slideshow" on Keynote is not working

How do I get access to "record Slideshow" on my desktop or laptop? Is there a glitch in the new update?

No problems with Record Slideshow on any of our systems.

Does this issue happen on all your existing presentations or just one?

Are there problems when creating a new presentation?

You can try the following:

Create a new user account:

1-  go to System Preferences > Users & Groups

2 - click the lock button and enter your user ID

3 - click the plus ( + ) button

4 - in the New Account dropdown menu, select Administrator and enter the  information required

6 - test Keynote in the new account

If that does not work, try a complete reinstall of Keynote as described below, perform all the steps, in the order listed.

1 - ensure you have a current backup of all your user files, saved to a separate drive

2 - close all applications

3 - uninstall Keynote; for this procedure to work, an application removal tool must be used, App Delete has a free trial and works well for this procedure. It can be downloaded from the developer’s website here:  App Delete

4. empty the Trash (Finder > Empty Trash)

5 - restart the Mac in Safe mode  (Apple Menu > Restart);  Immediately after the Apple startup sound, press the shift key on the keyboard, release shift when the Apple icon appears. Start up will take longer than usual as the Mac is performing a software repair of the start up drive

6 - After the Mac is fully powered up, restart the Mac normally:   Apple Menu > Restart

7 - reinstall Keynote from the Mac App Store Application

8 - Restart the Mac again normally

Please report back on how this went
