Issues with Finder

My finder has randomly stopped opening up a quick look preview, it just started opening the photo I'm trying to preview into photos. Does anyone know how to fix this? When I click the spacebar to open quicklook it selects my finder in a red box.

Preview thumbnails not displaying in Finder (Monterey 12.7.4) Safe mode doesn’t solve the issue either. Open programs now showing on left side of screen What has happened here? Now when I move my mouse over to the left side of the screen open programs appear. Also I can now only have one open program on my desktop. If I have Photos open and choose Finder it minimizes Photos instead of overlaying it. I can find no solution. Thanks

Try this.....Press and hold the Option Key, then right click (or press Control + Option) then click on Finder in the Dock. Click on Relaunch. Test to see if spacebar now starts quick view as expected.
