using Kindle app on iPad

When I try to open the Kindle app on my iPad, it looks like it is opening Kindle but it does not go beyond the circling dots.

Is your iPad updated to the latest version of iOS 16 which is 16.3.1?

Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it?
