I just found an app for my old 9.3.5 iPad, so not to carry my newer larger iPad. It is called "Audioboks" by Cross Foward Consulting,LLC.

I haven't used it yet, but most audio apps are for newer iPads. Good luck.

I have no idea if there would be any; you can check the app store or simply find a book and then look at its compatibility requirements.
