FORMS IN NUMBERS

I have an iPad I use on site which we use a form using index & match for single searches in a price matrix which works

I now need to find a formula which will return results for multiple index and matches.......

The form results are on the following SS

The SS shows the 1st 2 columns produced in the form but the data in columns 3-6 are blank. I'm using copy and paste to achieve the result.

All and any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Liontamer,

You have reached the Numbers for Mac forum. Numbers for Mac does not have forms as a feature. However, if by "form" you mean a second table, perhaps we can help.

But I am not sure what you are trying to do. If my old eyes are do not deceive me, your formula is

INDEX(C4:P8,MATCH(T5,$A4:$A8,-1),MATCH(T4,C$2:P$2,-1)

  1. Note that the 3 open parentheses "(" do not match the 2 closing parentheses ")"
  2. I can't tell which cell (or table) contains that formula .
  3. Please take screen shots that include the column letters and the row numbers. Your second screen shot shows them but the first screenshot does not. So it is impossible to understand the formula.

Clarification please!

Regards,

Ian.

Hi Ian, my name is Pat. Thank you in advance for taking your time to hopefully help solve this, I'll try to explain so please bear with me. (I am a total enthusiast willing to learn just trying to make life easier)

I also have a MAC and understand "forms" and not a feature. I would generally create a SS on MAC then open the file/sheet on iPad then create a form to suit on iPad. Most of our SS only use standard formula, we have just started using Index & Match which is fine if you are seeking 1 answer.

The data request is from the image in below

I'm trying to ask the price matrix to give me numerous answers on the same page whist giving accumulative totals.

As requested

I have just created this 2nd Table for accumulating totals but this isn't working either

We sell window blinds, Because the "job" is on-site I am using an iPad, there's a fantastic feature "for us" on 'iPad' numbers, by selecting add sheet you also have an option to add 'FORM'.

Using the form on site I can take multiple measurements (width & drop)

The first measurements return costs on the form.

ISSUE 1. The form sends all measurements to a number SS named 'Form Data' but the SS only records certain data not some costs.

In the top R/H corner of the 'FORM' image above there is a +, when selected I can add more blinds.

ISSUE 2. As soon as I add more blinds the form records the new measurements but doesn't return the value of the multiple blinds recorded.

When a FORM is created a SS called 'Form Data' is generated to receive data.

Whatever we input on the 'FORM' the data defaults to a generic SS and once the form is set up I can in-put data directly on the SS Form Data and the data defaults to the 'FORM'

GOAL. I'm trying to get accumulative totals on 'Look up price Form'

Ian, I may have gone a bit mad with my explanations here, sorry.

Thank in advance

Best regards Pat

Hi Ian thank you for your response and willingness to help.

Looking at my last post I understand the confusion, Some how it all makes sense to me...... after thinking about 'what I want/need' I suppose the best way to describe it is ....

An on-line blind company, for example 'Tuiss Blinds' in Aus or any online shopping site

1 Pick the product.

2 Choose the range/colour

3 Enter the size.

4 Generate price.

5 Add to basket.

Repeat 1,2,3,4 & 5 until order complete, then view basket.

Basket contains products and cost.

I assume because I have all of the above this can be achieved via tables, formulas, links etc but I've a feeling your going to tell me this is coding stuff...

Again thank you for your time and willingness to help

Kind regards, Pat
