rosetta requirement

attempting to install rosetta, using terminal. type"/usr/sbin/softwareupdate --install-rosetta" hit enter, prompts"type A to accept and hit enter". upon doing so, reply comes back "2023-03-11 19:00:18.323 softwareupdate[801:10675] Package Authoring Error: 032-35668: Package reference com.apple.pkg.RosettaUpdateAuto is missing installKBytes attribute


Install of Rosetta 2 finished successfully"

when checking in system, the program is not there. Help!

FWIW, there is no reason to install Rosetta 2 manually. When you attempt to run an Intel app on an Apple Silicon Mac it will bring up a dialog window to install it. If it doesn't Rosetta 2 is already installed.
