Why is My iPhone software can not be updated

1) Your device may not support newer software. iPhone models compatible with iOS 16 can be used to view compatible device models across different versions of iOS. Change the drop-down option in the upper-left corner of that page to see compatible models for different versions.

2) You may have previously been using a beta software. If so and that profile is still installed, further updates may not be possible unless you remove that profile. Visit How to uninstall iOS or iPadOS beta software to learn how to remove that profile and install official iOS software to be eligible for updates.

3) You may be using VPN, ad-blocking or other security softwares which could be preventing communication between your device and the Apple servers. If so, remove or temporarily disable those and check for updates again.
