update from FCP 10.4.6 to 10.4.10

Hi, I'm running OS 10.15.7 Catalina, and don't want to upgrade that in order to hang on to other very expensive to replace software. I've got Final Cut Pro 10.4.6 and I'm finding it to be buggy. Is there a way to update FCP without going to the most current version? And is there a way to find out what the "best" version of FCP is for the OS I'm running?

And then where do I find the update for FCP to that perfect version?

App store says it can't update because I need a higher version OS. (I saw a post earlier that said it would update it to the highest version of FCP that my OS could handle-not happening).

Thanks in advance,

B

Move the current version to the trash. Don’t empty it. In the App Store don’t go to the FCP page. Clicked the button in the lower left and go to your Purchased page. Find FCP there. Click on it to download and it will ask if you want the latest version for your system, which I think is 10.5.4.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your quick reply, I saw that you had made this suggestion for someone else earlier and tried it, but the app store said it couldn't update my FCP cause I needed a higher OS version.

I've begun a session with apple support - we'll see what they say. I'm hoping they can give me a direct link to the right version for my OS in the app store.

I'll let you know what happens.

Thanks again.
