Why aren't recent photos showing in iMessage Photos App?

Hello,

I have an iPhone 13 Pro running on the latest iOS release. All of my photos on my phone are synced to iCloud and the originals remain on my iPhone.

When sending an iMessage to someone, if I attempt to use the Photos app within iMessages, only the most recent two (2) photos are showing. Everything else that shows is from 2015 or other odd/pseudorandom years. If I expand the window and try to go out of albums and back into 'Recents' it's the same thing. None of the photos are sorted in descending (earliest) with the exception of the most recent two (2).

This is an annoying bug and it means I have to scroll through THOUSANDS of photos to try and find something may I took a week ago. Any suggestions are appreciated.

That's literally the example I'm describing, which produces the unexpected, dare I say it, bug behavior. All of the photos are shown. The most recent two (2) are certainly shown, followed by thousands of photos from random years. The expected behavior is that it shows the most recent all photos, descending from most recent to oldest.
