How can I get direct messages?

If you already tried (to no avail) all te steps provided in the support article that led you here, try contacting your cellular carrier and explain your problem.

What do you mean by "direct messages"?

Did there steps in the support document you posted from not help?

What happens when you try to get a message? Does it simply not arrive?

How is it being sent? To a phone number? an email address?

From where is it being sent? an iPhone? an Android phone?

Please explain your issue in as much detail as possible, and someone may be able to advise.
