Dual Authuentication

I have a new iphone. I am not getting a SMS text message when doing dual authentication for various accounts that I frequent.

Can I change the default delivery method for 2-factor authentication codes from iPhone to SMS? I own an iPhone, but I only use it for my daughter to watch Bluey during road trips. That's it. So it sits in a drawer with a depleted battery any other time. I use an android device and windows PC. However, there is exclusive content on Apple TV and Apple Podcasts that I need to log in to see/hear. Every time I log in and need to 2FA code, it defaults to my iPhone and I can't find anyway to change that, so I have to tell it to send a text message. Can I change this setting? Or is Apple just going to keep trying to make it really inconvenient to not switch?

Who is your cellular carrier? If it’s AT&T and you got conned into installing and setting up their active armor app, you need to change the settings to not block SMS messages.
