Delete Massive Storage Used by Podcasts (on my MacBook)

Why is my podcast app using a huge amount of storage space? I listen to podcasts all the time - but, I can't justify using an extreme amount of storage space. Is this required or can I find a way to NOT use any storage space - more maybe just a VERY small amount of space. These are just audio files after all.
