i'm trying to create a script using Script editor, but i can't choose language and the file wouldn't save.
am i missing something?

What if you try Save As... instead?
if an error message appears, please take a screenshot (command-shift-4), and post it here.
Note: if you don't see Save As... in the File menu, hold down the Option key, and then click the File menu again.
It all seems perfectly normal... what exactly happens if you choose File->Save, or press Command-S?
nothing happens. the save dialogue opens, but it doesn't save it.
it's the first time i try to do a script, so i don't know what i'm doing and it's driving me crazy. if somebody can create the file it would be much appreciated.
