Selected contact for legacy key but no next steps indicated. Help please.
Setting up legacy contact. Selected contact from my contact list but no next steps noted. What am I missing? Thanks.

Just to confirm, are you trying to add a Legacy Contact as shown in the "Add a Legacy Contact for your Apple ID" section of the 'Related Article' How to add a Legacy Contact for your Apple ID that was shared on this thread?
If so, after selecting the contact are you able to see that person in the Legacy Contact list, or did you receive an email confirming that the contact was added as a Legacy Contact?
If not, try restarting your iPhone with the steps shown below, and try adding the Legacy Contact once more: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later
1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.
While restarting may seem like a simple step, it can often help with resolving some unexpected issues like this.
